Uptime International has entered into a contract with Ulstein Verft for delivery of an Uptime 30m access solution. Ulstein Verft will integrate the delivery in the new wind farm Service Operation Vessel(SOV) developed by Ulstein Design & Solutions that they are building for German based Bernhard Schulte to be delivered in 2020.
The Uptime delivery consists of a new designed active motion compensated gangway and an adjustable pedestal integration which will be mounted towards the elevator tower in the new Ulstein SX 195 SOV design type. The Interaction between gangway and vessel will enable personnel and cargo transfer through the gangway in addition to the gangway also being used as a crane.
The new Bernhard Schulte Offshore vessel will support maintenance work of GE Renewable Energy at the German wind farm Merkur Offshore. The total capacity of 396MW in Merkur will produce enough power for almost half a million homes.
“We are proud, honoured and humble to be chosen again as the preferred access system provider. Our Uptime 23,4m have been the bench mark gangway in the wind industry for years and together with our new autonomous 30m gangway should the Uptime gangway family be ready for and cover whatever project that comes up in the wind industry” says Sales & Marketing Manager Svein Ove Haugen.
“Our new developed autonomous 30m gangway have new features as autolanding, crane function, operator in the wheelhouse and more. This gangway will be a game changer increasing workability and safety at a lower cost” says Sales and Business Development Director Bjørnar Huse
